Welcome, everyone! Here’s the program for the 8th Global Investigative Journalism Conference, (#GIJC13), scheduled for October 12-15, 2013, in beautiful Rio de Janeiro. It’s the first time we’re holding the GIJC in the global south, and we’re combining it with two other key events in journalism: the annual Latin America Investigative Journalism Conference (COLPIN), and the International Congress of ABRAJI, Brazil’s investigative journalism association. Panels and workshops will be available in languages as marked: English (Eng), Portuguese (Port), Spanish (Span). Plenary and showcase panels will be translated into all three. There will be streaming video available for all plenary and showcase panels and all those held in the RDC auditorium (C1). We look forward to seeing you in Rio!

Worked at several newspapers until start at TV Manchete, where was producer for the show “Special Document”. Also worked at SBT network and has been working for 16 years at TV Globo, as producer and investigative Reporter of Fantastico, a weekly show.

At this work, he revealed mistreatment to aging people, a corruption scandal regarding resources for school meals around Brazil, the misusing of Bolsa Família (social program of Brazilian government), the criminal activities of the ex-congressman Hildebrando Pascoal, the operations of "comendador Arcanjo" (organized crime boss in Mato Grosso) and the assault on public money in the city of São Gonçalo.

Recently, Faustini exposed the case of burned documents at Salvador air base, corruption of congressmen in Rondonia state and frauds by car insurance companies. 

He won dozens of awards, like Esso, Libero Badaró for Telejournalism, Embratel, Human Rights Journalism Award, Embratel Tim Lopes Investigative Journalism and Tribute to Democracy and Freedom. He also won honour mention at the Press and Society Institute and Transparency International's Latin American and Caribbean Award, Honour Mention at the Embratel Press Award.
