Welcome, everyone! Here’s the program for the 8th Global Investigative Journalism Conference, (#GIJC13), scheduled for October 12-15, 2013, in beautiful Rio de Janeiro. It’s the first time we’re holding the GIJC in the global south, and we’re combining it with two other key events in journalism: the annual Latin America Investigative Journalism Conference (COLPIN), and the International Congress of ABRAJI, Brazil’s investigative journalism association. Panels and workshops will be available in languages as marked: English (Eng), Portuguese (Port), Spanish (Span). Plenary and showcase panels will be translated into all three. There will be streaming video available for all plenary and showcase panels and all those held in the RDC auditorium (C1). We look forward to seeing you in Rio!

Graduated in Journalism for UnB (Universidade de Brasilia), has completed 40 years of journalism in 2012. Has already worked for Gazeta Mercantil, Jornal do Brasil and O Estado de S.Paulo newspapers, and Veja magazine.

Since 1991, runs a daily column in O Globo newspaper and a blog in its website. Is economy columnist for TV Globo and CBN Radio, and hosts a show for GloboNews cable TV. 

Formada em jornalismo pela UnB (Universidade de Brasília), completou 40 anos de profissão em 2012. Iniciou a carreira no Espírito Santo e já trabalhou na Gazeta Mercantil, Jornal do Brasil, Veja e O Estado de S.Paulo.

In 2005, was prized with Maria Moors Cabot (Columbia), for outstanding example of explanatory journalism. Is author of two books: “Convem sonhar”, a collection with columns and essays, and “Saga brasileira, a longa luta de um povo por sua moeda”, on the hyperinflation period in Brazil (1980s), Real Plan implementation and Brazilian economic stabilization.
