Welcome, everyone! Here’s the program for the 8th Global Investigative Journalism Conference, (#GIJC13), scheduled for October 12-15, 2013, in beautiful Rio de Janeiro. It’s the first time we’re holding the GIJC in the global south, and we’re combining it with two other key events in journalism: the annual Latin America Investigative Journalism Conference (COLPIN), and the International Congress of ABRAJI, Brazil’s investigative journalism association. Panels and workshops will be available in languages as marked: English (Eng), Portuguese (Port), Spanish (Span). Plenary and showcase panels will be translated into all three. There will be streaming video available for all plenary and showcase panels and all those held in the RDC auditorium (C1). We look forward to seeing you in Rio!

Nils Mulvad er redaktør og grunnlegger av Kaas & Mulvad. Fra 2001 til 2006 var han direktør for Danish International Center for Analytical Reporting, DICAR. Fra 2001 var han assosiert professor ved den Danske Journalisthøyskolen. Nils Mulvad var en av de to grunnleggerne av Global Investigative Journalism Network og sitter i organisasjonens styre.

NILS MULVAD is editor at Kaas & Mulvad. From 2001-2006 he was executive director of the Danish International Center for Analytical Reporting, Dicar. From 2001 and onwards he worked as associate professor at The Danish School of Media and Journalism.
With former IRE-director Brant Houston he was the main responsible for the two first Global Investigative Journalism Conferences in 2001 and 2003 in Copenhagen and was co-founder of the Global Investigative Journalism Network, www.gijn.org.
