Welcome, everyone! Here’s the program for the 8th Global Investigative Journalism Conference, (#GIJC13), scheduled for October 12-15, 2013, in beautiful Rio de Janeiro. It’s the first time we’re holding the GIJC in the global south, and we’re combining it with two other key events in journalism: the annual Latin America Investigative Journalism Conference (COLPIN), and the International Congress of ABRAJI, Brazil’s investigative journalism association. Panels and workshops will be available in languages as marked: English (Eng), Portuguese (Port), Spanish (Span). Plenary and showcase panels will be translated into all three. There will be streaming video available for all plenary and showcase panels and all those held in the RDC auditorium (C1). We look forward to seeing you in Rio!

Started as professional photographer at the “Jornal da Tarde”, in 1993. From 1995 to 1996, was assistant at the Bob Wolfenson’s studio. Since 1997, works at Folha de S.Paulo - in which he runs TV Folha since 2011.

In 2002, covered the Presidential campaign of Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, what resulted in the exposition “Retrato de Campanha”. In 2003, released with the photographer Maurren Bisilliat and with the journalist Andre Caramante the book "Aqui Dentro, Páginas de uma Memória: Carandiru", result of four years of interviews and research with prisoners of Carandiru, one of the largest penitentiaries of Latin America (disabled in 2002). Among his works, is the documentation of social issues, such as his work on "Marginalia", composed of rappers Mano Brown, MV Bill and Dexter records; records on Cracolandia (region of Sao Paulo city where crack addicted concentrate), Pixadores (Pixo - 2009), and hip hop dances in Capao Redondo (district of Sao Paulo city).
